In 1991, during Yugoslavia’s tumultuous breakup, grenades rained down on the northern region of Bosnia just as Elvedin was about to enter the world. The complication of his umbilical cord being wrapped around his neck was just the beginning of the challeng es he would overcome. His family sought a way out of the conflict and embarked on an unusual journey to reach Slovenia. They ended up in Sandviken, after missing the Denmark – bound bus, and Elvedin started to explore and learn about this new, unknown country.
The experience has given him the determination to continue when facing a challenge, as well as humbleness in not taking things for granted. While fate may have played its part in Elvedin’s life, he regards himself as genuinely fortunate. He continually forges ahead, seeking new challenges to conquer with humbleness, determination, and a little bit of luck.
